Following a successful career in the WA and NT Police Forces where he worked in school based policing for over 20 years, Peter was elected as the Member for Sanderson in the August 2008 NT general election.

Following his election to the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly, Peter was appointed as the Shadow Minister for Young Territorians, Seniors, Multicultural Affairs, Racing, Gaming and Licensing and assisting the Leader of the Opposition on Disability Services.

He has also been appointed to the Standing Orders and Members Interests Committee and the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee.

Peter holds a Master of Business Administration, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies and Diploma in Communication and Media.

He and his partner Linda live in Marrara where they enjoy the Territory tropical lifestyle with their family.
