How do LEAD and the Foundation work together?
The Foundation has a role in maintaining and supporting LEAD. However, like any Network, members only get out of LEAD what they put into it.
LEAD is the central point of reference for leaders who have completed the Australian Rural Leadership Program (Fellows of the Foundation) or other recognised rural leadership programs and awards.
Supporting and working with LEAD enables the Foundation to:
- recognise rural leaders contributions and achievements
- broker partnerships, consultations and opportunities that include LEAD members
- ensure that its work is effective, well advised and responsive
- measure the long term impacts of its leadership programs
Through and for LEAD, the Foundation:
- provides an online database
- (the Leadership Bureau) to help members find others with the skills and expertise to assist them in their leadership roles and activities
- works to broaden the LEAD’s reach and effectiveness
- provides a platform for communication (the on-line Fellows Forum)
- provides opportunities for members to engage and collaborate on key projects and issues
- actively promotes LEAD as a leadership resource to government, industry and rural Australia
- involves members in developing and delivering aspects of its programs
- provides face-to-face opportunities for members to connect with leadership program participants, fellows, members and Foundation staff
- encourages LEAD instigated activities
